St. Simons Island

St. Simons Island is nestled between the Altamaha River delta to the north with Little St Simons also on the north with St Simons Sound to the south. Sea Island is on the eastern edge and the marshes of Glynn and the Intracoastal Waterway to the west. Climate is subtropical, 45-inch rainfall yearly, winter temperatures 61 to 68 F and summertime 88 to 90 F.

Sea Island

Sea Island hosts two resorts, Sea Island Beach Club and The Cloister which are connected by a roundabout, Sea Island Drive, the island’s main road. It is the only resort in the world claiming four Forbes Five-Star awards for years. Ocean Forest Golf Club is on the northern tip of the island and is private. Climate is also subtropical same as all the Barrier Islands.

Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island is located off the coast of Georgia. It is one of the Sea Islands and one of the barrier islands owned by the State of Georgia. Jekyll Island was developed in late 19th century for private vacation homes for affluent business owners. Evacuated during World War 11 by the government, Georgia acquired all the island for security and preservation. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and St. Simons Sound and Clam Creek this island is full of wildlife and boasts 20 miles of hiking trails. Climate is subtropical and very humid during the summer months.
